Have you ever tried to guess what someone else is thinking? If the answer is yes, then you should think of yourself as a wannabe mind reader. It’s true that there are many people who have this ability but it’s good to know that most of the mind readers work by illusion and suggestion. In case you’d like to be a mind reader, you should be aware that it will take some time and work but you can succeed. Magicians are famous for knowing what others are thinking. Actually it’s one of their most famous tricks to be a mind reader.
This trick is frequently used. They blindfold the magician and with the help of his assistant they go to a member of the audience and do the trick. Firstly, they tell him to show an object in his pocket and ask the magician what the object is. The magician answers “A comb” or any other subject that the audience member is holding. This might seem breathtaking but in fact it is simple and the magician is not a mind reader, not even close to it.
This is just a trick because people carry certain things in their pockets – money, driver’s licenses, combs and the like. All the magician has to do is make a list of all the common items and then think of a code with his assistant. For instance, she might say “what is this man holding” when the member of the audience has a comb in his pocket, or “what is in her hand” when it is a coin, “Can you guess what it is?” for a driver’s license and etc. The so called mind reader should have a good memory and that’s it! He doesn’t need any other special abilities, certainly not magic ones. This whole thing is just one trick and it can be easily learned by anyone who is a good memorizer.
Mind reading is also frequently used by street magicians. The magician gathers a crowd and picks one of the audience. He asks this man to write down the name of a loved one on a piece of paper and put it in a sealed envelope. Then the so called mind reader tries to guess the name by touching the envelope and guess what? He succeeds! The whole crowd believes the magician is a truthful mind reader.
However, the magician is just a smart con artist, not a mind reader. He has someone in the crowd to help him. This person reads the name written and tells it to the magician by certain gestures and signals. Everyone is looking at the magician and the sealed envelope, so this isn’t very hard. There is a special code for each letter. And again there is no mind reader, just a magician with its tricks.
In conclusion, if you feel like being a mind reader, all you have to do is find a trusted helper; you don’t need any other ability. Doing such tricks is not difficult at all, it just takes good technique and some practice. Once you know what you are doing, then you are ready for a performance if front of a large crowd.

Elaborate stunts and illusions. Beautiful assistants. A crew of well trained exotic animals. You are intrigued by the magician’s life and have decided to give it a shot. Well, don’t be fooled by the magicians you see on T.V. There is more to the profession than that, and you need to learn it from all different perspectives in order to be a true success.
In addition to stunts and illusions, you need to understand the basics. Palming techniques. Small tricks. Not all of your shows will require you to use your big tricks. A true magician knows a combination of both, and knows them all well.
Here is what you need to know to become a magician.
Learn the Basics. Learning the basic techniques is very important. Simple card tricks, coin tricks, and small tricks with props like ropes and hats are good to learn. You can learn from a book, take a class, or learn from a DVD or instruction online. The methods you choose will depend largely on your learning style. Keep in mind that it can be very helpful to have an expert show you how to do it and critique your technique.
Get a Mentor. In your road to becoming a magician, getting a mentor can be a tremendous help. A mentor will not only teach you how to perform tricks and illusions, but will also assist you on the business side of being a magician. Most are self employed and are responsible for booking their own engagements. It can be a big help to also learn things such as marketing, etc from your mentor.
Go to School. Yes, there are magic schools. Some are part of clown school. Others are designed as enrichment programs in middle school and high schools. Attending a school that focuses completely on magic can help you learn quickly and put you on a schedule for success.
What Kind of Magician? What kind of magician do you want to be? Each successful magician out there has some kind of niche. Do you want to be a clown/magician? Would you like to do elaborate stunts? Or maybe you want to focus entirely on card tricks. It’s up to you. Once you define exactly how you envision your future career, you can take the steps necessary to achieve it.
Your Tricks. Each performing magician has not only a broad knowledge of their field, they also have a select amount of tricks that they master. Granted, depending on the performance, you will want to vary your lineup. However, if you have a few tricks you can depend on, it will make your job a lot easier.
Stage presence. Being a technical magician won’t get you far. You need to develop a stage presence. Each trick and illusion you learn needs to have a routine attached to it that will captivate the audience. You can be a mediocre magician and still entertain the crowd with your jokes and anecdotes. What truly matters is that your audience has a good time.

What is it that draws us to games like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy? Much the same can be said for “thinking puzzles” like Sudoku games. They are designed to make us think, which for many of us is actually a challenge in itself.
We’re not stupid, mind you, but we’re “out of practice.” These games are a thrill for some adults to play because it challenges them in ways they’ve not been challenged in years. Most of us have managed to graduate from the third grade and excel up to the twelfth grade years and beyond. Yet, how often do we do basic multiplication or sort through coins to see how fast we can make fifty cents with small change?
Day to day, we develop habits and focus on a specific area of mental challenges. Some of us may use small pieces of our algebra past or geometry for software development, graphic arts or construction. Others may use advanced trig to build 18th century furniture or mechanical tool design. And, there are those select few that found a niche in their basic English classes to setup a blog and go to town.
Few of us, however, have found a complete use for the broad learning we did in our younger years.
This doesn’t discount the importance of learning in our youth! We’ve learned to specialize over the years and things we don’t use fade away into the depths of our memory. They’re still back there someplace, we just have to concentrate to recall them. Yet, at the core, this method of recollection and retraining is a very fun activity.
Proof is in the success (or creation) of such shows as “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” Where Jeff Foxworthy shows many contestants that they are, in fact, not as smart as a fifth grader. It’s a trick really, common sense tells you things they’ve learned in the last six months are going to be easier to recall than things we learned fifteen or more years ago!
We’re really not “training” our brain to do anything new; we’re teaching ourselves to recall information we once relied on in our everyday grade school life. Memorizing our “times tables” was a priority back in the day and was a chore to say the least. Now, recalling those lessons in a game like Brain Age becomes fun! Perhaps it’s fun because it recalls the innocents of our youth or maybe, as humans, we’re just looking for a challenge… a comfortable challenge.
It’s like riding a bike! Well, not really. Unless you consider picking up a bike after fifteen years and smashing your face on the pavement a few dozen times before you remember. Very few folks will have a brain age score of 20 the very first time they pickup Brain Age.
Games like Big Brain Academy use many of the senses we use everyday but have taken for granted over the years. How fast can you identify moving objects or shapes in the form of silhouettes? Who cares, right? Consider how fast you can dodge the shadow of a dog walking into the road at night. You’re good, you just don’t recognize it as a talent.
We use these magic powers in our brain each day to some degree but we hardly consider them of entertainment value. Yet, it’s the entertainment value that we’ve found so appealing. Why else would Nintendo release Brain Age 2 for the Nintendo DS? Can you imagine what you would have said if, fifteen years ago, you were sitting in fifth grade and someone said “you’ll be playing this in a video game someday.”
Have you ever said to yourself or a friend, “I really wish I paid more attention in school”? Sure you have! It seems a lot of us have matured since then and feel we’d pay more attention now than we did as a kid. Odd how things work.

Globe Trekker at Your End
After watching several episodes of the Globe Trekker, you’re ready to pack up and leave the bone-chilling weather. The idea is great, but fortunately, your break is scheduled for summer; you can’t trade the slush for sun and sea. With no option now, you can only watch more Globe Trekker episodes, Lost, or Saturday Night Basketball, just to lull your wanderlust until summer.
In-between wishful thinking and TV episodes, mentally go over the preparatory routine same as last year. Decide where to leave the dog and the houseplants, when to make the embassy inquiries, when to schedule shots, and how to settle other pressing matters before taking off for distant airports with family in tow.
Make up your choice – Greece for the June Miaoulia Festival, or see the famous nearby Patmos Island where God is said to have appeared. Toss a coin – heads for Solomon Islands, and tails for Costa Rica. It’s hard to make a choice if you only have two weeks to squeeze in the new sights and sounds.
But it is unwise to make every day of the 14-day break a sightseeing marathon. You don’t have to go to all of the shops, eat in all the cafes and restaurants, and look in every nook and cranny of Costa Rica or Greece. With a plan all mapped out, you can savor each day, enjoy your family, and have fun without the stress.
Travel Safely
To ensure your safety from any legal repercussions, check out with the Department of State and report your travel. The Department will alert you to high risk areas for your own and your family’s safety. You can get information about the customs restrictions of the country to be visited and the things you cannot bring or take back with you. It is prudent to do research on the country’s local laws and customs.
Learn how you can get funds from your country of origin and how to replace your passport in case you lose it. Don’t forget to get an international driver’s permit, if you’re planning to drive yourself around for your sightseeing tour. This saves you time arguing with the local police.
Get health insurance, in case your present insurance does not cover hospitalization abroad. If you have to take medication with you, ask your physician for a certification for your prescription, or better yet, check out the foreign embassies to make sure your medication does not fall under banned narcotics.
Squeezing the Fun In
Renting a fully-furnished apartment beats hotel living. You can still watch your favorite TV shows in the evenings and have more space for the children to romp around. Meals can be delivered when you’re bone-tired, and a washing machine takes care of the laundry. Rent a car, get a map, and do your sightseeing at your own pace. You don’t have to wake up to an alarm clock just to catch up with the morning tour.
Do what the locals do in Costa Rica. Enjoy the Tabacon hot springs, fly the canopy, and visit the old Spanish settlement in Cartago City. Breathe in the sights and relax – there’s no need to hurry. That’s the trick in capturing the magic of an annual 14-day break. Hurrying through everything robs you of enjoying the character of the place. A relaxing break does wonders to your body and mind, so why hurry when you’re on a break?

By downsizing your lunches out, and upsizing the money you didn’t spend into your bank account, you could supersize your savings in record time. But sometimes the temptation to spend can be overwhelming. When the spend-money sweats hit hard, go ahead and treat yourself-you have to break out once in a while, right? Other times, though, a few tips and tricks can pare down your spending appetite, and keep fattening up that savings account.
Pay yourself first. You deserve to be paid, first, before any of the bills, credit cards, or other obligations. Put something, no matter how small, away every payday that’s intended for you, and your future.
Set up your savings account so it’s completely separate and apart from your chequing account. In other words, don’t let it be easy to access your savings. Make sure that you have to drive to the bank, get in line, and fill out paperwork to get at your money. That will give you every opportunity to think carefully before you withdraw.
Make automatic deposits to your savings. You can easily set up automatic transfers from the account where your pay cheques are deposited into your savings account. That will ensure some money goes into your savings account on a regular basis.
Learn to live on less. Try 10% at first. Look at your pay cheque. Let’s say it’s 0 every week. Do you think you could cut back by every week? Too much? What about 5%, or ? Start slow and easy, then add more to your savings until you get to that magical 10%.

#1 – Add Your Full URL In Your Description
Lets have a look at some of these. First thing, youve seen this, is to add your website URL inside your description area. What does this look like? Very simply and straightforwardly, if you look at our example here, every single video we have right at the beginning the link back to our website.
As youll see once again, the http:// is right in front of the website address. You need to have that. If you dont have that it wont be clickable. And you also need to have it right at the top so that when this is minimized people can still see it and click on it. Inside the video, tell people to click on it. Tell them inside the description area, and point to it, click on it to go to the website. Very, very important.
#2 – Add Your URL Inside Each Of Your Videos
This is another thing. This is a little bit more tricky to do. This particular video doesnt have it. Let me just show you another one. Lets show you this one here is a good example.
This is where JayJay teaches people how to do the coin roll, running the coin. Lets just go to the middle and see if it starts playing for us. As you can see there, embedded inside the video – so we did this with the video editing – we have our website address. We tell people, Theres the website. Go check it out, www. FreeMagicLive. com. Thats inside the video. You need to do that with your editing. Thats the next one.
#3 – Create An Incentive To Visit Your Website
In our case, we now have a free report. Weve got the Street Magic Manual, and so we tell people, If you want to get access to the Street Magic Manual, its a free report, you can go to the website by clicking on the link in the description area. Thatll take people straight to the page where they can then download the free report. Simple as that. Once again, just like you tell people to subscribe to your videos and to rate it and to favorite it, tell them. Tell them just to go to your website and to sign up. Make it compelling. Make it really valuable. Tell them whats inside the report or the free resource, whatever it is.
It could be a video. This is where youre building your list. I think this one might be linking to another older opt-in page. Lets just see what that looks like. I think it just goes straight back to http://www.FreeMagicLive.com and on here people can opt-in for the free report. Very straight forward.
#4 – Create An Open Loop That People Can Only Close On Your Website
This is really cool. This is where the Zeigarnik trick comes in again. Basically, with your videos, all you do is you may reveal a part of a secret, and say To get the rest of the secret, you have to go to this website, opt-in for the report, and get the rest of the secret. Thats all I mean by that.
Basically, you use the Zeigarnik Effect to your advantage. That can often help people increase the chances of going to your website and signing up for your newsletter. Make sure that you have something valuable that youre offering people.
Make sure that its worthwhile. We often get people writing back to us saying, Wow, we cant believe this is for free. Are you sure I wasnt supposed to pay?Thats the sort of reaction you want to get. We get that sort of reaction from people. We do that with our free reports.
#5 – #Create Psychological Triggers To Get People To Take Action
Because were running out of time a little bit, Im just going to rip over these real quick. In fact, what I recommend you do is to read a book called Influence: The Psychological of Persuasion, by Robert B. Cialdini. Let me just type that in for you into Google search so you can see what this looks like. Robert Cialdini, heres his website.
He wrote this book called Influence. You want to get a copy of this book, because itll help you in many, many other ways as well. Im not going to go into too much more detail there. I recommend you read that book, and itll talk about these six weapons of influence that he talks about:
Reciprocity
Commitment and liking
Scarcity
Social proof
Authority and liking
You can use these inside your videos to encourage people to go back to your website
and to sign up for your newsletter.
#6 – Collect People’s Contact Details On Your Website
Believe it or not, this is important. This is what the whole point is. An added benefit of this that you might not have thought about is that once you have a list of people on your email list, every time you create a new video you can send an email to them.
Once we create a new video, we send it to 15,000 people. A portion of those people will go and watch that video. Whats that going to do to our video count? Thatll increase our video count within a day very quickly. It kind of has this snowball effect.
The more subscribers you have to email, the more views youre going to get, the better youre going to rank inside YouTube and Google. Then its just going to get better and better. Do you see how powerful the system is? I hope you can see the power of this.
#7 – Write Your Channel Description Like A Sales Letter
Ive covered that already when I talked about Maria Andros page. Once again, make sure that your channel description here is almost like a sales letter. When people come to your channel, theyre going to want to read about what youre doing.
Especially with this growth of YouTube and how the mainstream of people end up coming onto it, were going to get more and more older people, and more people from other niches getting into YouTube, and theyll want to read more about you. Theyll want to make sure that youre a real person.
Really make sure that you have this profile area of yours really well written. Maybe even hire a copywriter to write it for you. Thats how important it is.
#8 – Link To Your Website From Your YouTube Banners
This is only for partners. Im going to still show you so its something you can look forward to one day when you become a partner. As you can see, if I go to my channel page, theres a whole banner here. This banner here, if I click on it, it takes people straight back to my website, to my and JayJays website, to the opt-in page.
So people click on it and go straight to the opt-in page, where they can opt-in for the content. You get this functionality if youre a partner. If youre not a partner, you dont get this functionality. Now if youre a partner you also get this sort of functionality where you can create a little box like this and the same thing, you click on it and it goes to the optin page. Very powerful.
Then the third thing thats really cool is for each individual video, lets go to this one here, youll see another little banner. You get all these little banners and this banner here. When people click on that it actually just goes back to my channel. When they get back to the channel, theyll click on the banner and theyll go to the website. Once youre a partner you get access to all these features. Very cool.
#9 – Link To Your Website From Your Promotional Text Area
Theres another one, only for partners as well. You get a special promotional text area, so link to your website from there as well. Let me just show you what that looks like. This once again is only for partners, but its something you can look forward to.
If you use these strategies, you can build up your traffic and your views, youll be able to become a partner as well, and youll get access to this. Its this area here. This allows me to basically write any text that I want. I can write as much as I want. I can link to the site, to the opt-in page. It drives traffic right back to the opt-in page.
People come to visit my YouTube channel, then they read that, and its a compelling heading with a link. They click on it and go back to the site. So as you can see,everything is optimized to drive traffic back to my site where people opt-in.
